Nestled in the rolling hills of Aberdeenshire and overlooking the Moray Firth, our gentle herd invites you to experience the magic of mindful connection. Cow cuddling is more than a cuddle – it’s a moment of stillness, warmth, and emotional grounding.
Whether you’re seeking calm, curious about animal-assisted therapy, or just fancy a moo-ment of joy, we offer a space to reconnect with nature, with yourself, and with a very cuddly cow.
About Us
We are a small family farm that is situated on the coast of North East Scotland between Banff and Fraserburgh. We have a herd of pedigree Hereford Cattle which was established in 1967. In addition to our herd of cows we have a pedigree flock of Beltex Sheep. We love the tranquillity of the farming lifestyle and how no two days are the same.
We have had the pleasure of watching our daughters grow up around the livestock and each have been fortunate enough to have their very own animals. We have seen and felt the calming impact their presence has had and the calmness they bring when life becomes hectic. It is this experience that we want to share with you so you too can have the experience of interacting with our beautiful and well-loved herd.
Hereford cattle are world renowned for being quiet and docile and are easy to manage. This makes them the perfect breed for visitors of all ages to interact with. Their easy natured temperament will allow you to get right next to them to show affection.
Meet Some of The Moo’s
Gotcha
Gotcha Looking - She doesn’t just walk – she struts! With a flick of her tail and a cheeky glint in her eye, she’s the diva of the field and proud of it! She’ll nudge for attention, pose for selfies and let you know (politely) when she’s done cuddling. Gotcha is perfect for those who need a confidence boost.
Damsel
She takes on the mothering role and is always watching over the others. Damsel brings a nurturing energy and is very laid back. Her favourite pastime is to eat and to be taken out on walks. Damsel is especially good with children as she brings a sense of safety and warmth.
Vinnie
He is the king of the herd. Stubborn in nature but very much a gentle giant. He is big-hearted and has been known to cry when feeling unloved! Pamper and show Vinnie the love, he will be your forever friend.
Beau
As her name suggests she is a beautiful cow inside and out. She is gentle, curious and often found gazing into the distance. She thrives on attention and will make you feel loved especially if you give her a treat. She’s perfect for those who are seeking quiet companionship and a moment to breathe.
Commando
The baby of the group. Whilst he be may be smaller than the rest, do not be fooled as he is quiet, strong and deeply intuitive. Commando doesn’t say much (obviously), but his stillness speaks volumes. He’s a favourite for reflective moments and deep emotional connection.
The Experience
Cow Cuddling
Cows are intelligent and affectionate with engaging personalities. They have a huge presence each with their unique personalities. Due to their size, they tend to have a more grounded presence. Their body warmth, steady breathing and gentle nature creates a soothing environment that helps therapeutic connection.
Cow cuddling is a form of animal-assisted therapy where people spend calm, tactile time with cows; hugging, stroking, grooming or simply being near them. This promotes emotional well-being which helps reduce stress, boosts mood and increases mindfulness.
Expect a calm, grounding and emotionally enriching experience. Cow cuddling typically involves gentle interaction with friendly cows – stroking, brushing, leaning against them, or simply sitting quietly nearby to absorb their peaceful energy.
What Happens During a Cow Cuddling Session
Introduction
When you arrive at our peaceful farm you will be greeted by your hosts (that’s farmer Martin and farmer Molly) and introduced to our farm ‘Cummerton’. We will start with a gentle orientation on health and safety and then you will be given a tour of the farm, meeting and feeding our commercial herd from the safety of a tractor and trailer. You will have the opportunity to hear about our lives and about our passion for sustainable farming.
After the tour, we will stop so you can meet our flock of sheep and of course stop and meet our goats Paddy and Pogo who are a firm favourite. Hopefully you will see these two mischievous goats in a playful mood and get chance to join in and play with them.
Interaction
Intimate Group Cow Cuddling Sessions (maximum of 6 people)
One-To-One Cow Cuddling Sessions (please enquire directly)
Once we arrive in our main yard, you will then be introduced to our cow-cuddling herd. We have 2 packages to choose from: Magical Moo-ments and Moo-assive Adventure.
Magical Moo-ments will allow you to brush and stroke a cow, lean in and feel their steady breath and sit quietly beside them. There’s no right way to cuddle – just connection, calm and curiosity. You will then have time to reflect over your experience with a light refreshment (drink and sweet treat).
For those who don’t want the experience to end and want to book our Moo-assive Adventure will then continue the interaction by giving you the opportunity to wash and dry your cow. At this point you will have built up an appetite for yourself and therefore will be offered a light lunch (menu option provided prior to the experience). After lunch and drying off you will then be able to groom the cows and then taking them for a walk on a halter. Once walked you can thank them by giving them a little extra treat.
We want these moo-ments to be forever lasting and therefore we will take digital photographs which will be emailed to you after the experience. Please note we are not professional photographers.
